Asian Language Teacher Training Consortium

An independent non-profit organization, ALLEX works closely with Cornell University, Ohio State University, and Portland State University, three of the nation's top institutions for Asian language pedagogy, through the ALLEX Asian Language Teacher Training Consortium, to implement high quality teacher training programs--the foundation for ALLEX's academic exchanges.

The ALLEX Asian Language Teacher Training Consortium, formed in September 2005, is comprised of universities committed to the establishment and enhancement of high quality secondary and post-secondary level Chinese and Japanese language programs.

The consortium does not endorse a specific methodology, rather it is an administrative organ that enables institutions with a commitment to Chinese and Japanese language education to pool resources (mainly faculty) for high quality training programs such as the eight week ALLEX Japanese Teacher Training Institute (JTTI), ALLEX Chinese Teacher Training Institute (CTTI), and the ALLEX two day Refresher Seminar.
