As we look back to 1988 and over 16 years of our programs, we are proud to have placed over 450 Japanese language instructors at over 140 colleges and universities throughout the United States and Canada. These placements provided the opportunity for countless friendships and day-to-day experiences that have enriched the lives of thousands of students, faculty and administrators. We are also proud of the high standards we established for excellence in Japanese language instruction through our summer training program directed by Dr. Eleanor H. Jorden.

But as of September, 2002, Exchange: Japan will no longer administer our programs, including the Educational Exchange Program (EEP), Teaching Japanese as a Foreign Language (TJFL) and Japanese Language: Oral Concentration (JLOC).

TRAINED INSTRUCTORS TO TEACH JAPANESE LANGUAGE CLASSES AT YOUR SCHOOL FOR 2005 AND FUTURE YEARS

We are pleased to announce that the Alliance for Language Learning and Educational Exchange (ALLEX) was recently formed to continue many of the services that Exchange: Japan performed during our sixteen years of administration of the Educational Exchange Program(EEP) the Teacher Training Institute (TTI).

ALLEX’s flagship program, will be the Program for Intercultural Exchange (PIE), which will continue the EEP tradition.  ALLEX is partnering with the same expert faculty you have come to know over the last sixteen years.  Four of these experts serve on ALLEX’s Japanese Teacher Training Board: Eleanor Jorden, Ginger Marcus, Robert Sukle, and Patricia Wetzel.
