Mason meets with Exchange:Japan Director in Detroit

Thomas Mason, Jr., ALLEX Executive Director, met with Bill Wiitala, former Director of Exchange:Japan, on July 23 and 24 in Detroit to discuss ALLEX's continuation of many of the same kinds of programs formerly offered by E:J. Among the many topics discussed was the influence the program has on Japanese teaching in the United States: more than 30 alumnae are currently employed in the field as professional Japanese instructors.

    Host Institution Applications Now Available

Institutions interested in receiving a lecturer for fall 2005 should make initial contact with ALLEX as soon as possible. Applications will be sent to prospective host institutions on September 1, 2004.

Information Sessions for Prospective Japanese Students

ALLEX will hold information sessions for Japanese individuals interested in the Scholarship Program in International Education. The sessions will be held in Tokyo and Osaka in late September. Admission to the program is highly competitive and all prospective applicants are strongly encouraged to attend a session. Please register online. We look forward to meeting you soon!
